Patriot Coal Acquires NOMAD Software License from Select Business Solutions
Trumbull, CT January 15, 2009: Patriot Coal, the third largest producer and marketer of coal in the eastern United States, has acquired a NOMAD software license from Select Business Solutions. With 16 mining complexes in Appalachia and the Illinois Basin, Patriot Coal ships to domestic and international electric utilities, industrial users and metallurgical coal customers, and controls approximately 1.9 billion tons of proven and probable coal reserves. Patriot Coal selected NOMAD since it is a worldwide leader in end user reporting, data extraction and analysis providing efficient access to mainframe data sources including DB2, VSAM, IMS, IDMS, and Teradata.
